It's time for a new spotlight!!I'm excited to introduce you to our April Student Spotlight...Julieta E! We've shared so many fun times together through classes, book club, workshops, and retreats. And we're kindred spirits in our love of handcrafting (check out the collage she made below--only the head is her!). Read on for her thoughtful insights: What is your favorite part of yoga? My favorite part of Yoga is glute Bridge rollups, slow movement of the pelvis up and down, vertebrae by vertebrae. How long have you been practicing (in general / with Monica)? I found Monica and her Yoga teachings in 2018 and I am most grateful! The first class went smoothly and it was easy to follow that I kept my eyes closed until the end. What is something that yoga has helped you overcome? Yoga has helped me strengthen my core, lower back and my posture has improved greatly. Do you have any words of advice for a brand-new beginner? My advice for those that are new to Yoga is, make Yoga part of your life, just as going to church or visiting the therapist would be. What is one fun fact that we may not know about you? A fun fact about me is... I like to use my chainsaw to get rid of Juniper when I can. Thank you for sharing your practice with us, Julieta! Sign up for good vibes this weekend!Prepare to bliss out at Hand Craft Yoga studio this Saturday with our once-a-month all-level yoga class from 9:30 to 10:30 am, followed by a sound bath with Cherie from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Come for one, or stay for both! Click the image below to RSVP to the yoga class at 9:30 am this Saturday, 4/12. If you're coming to the sound bath, just show up! You've read this far...Maybe you're ready for a new book? Winnie wants to know: Do you want to join our book club? We have officially selected "The Murmur of Bees" by Sofia Segovia. To paraphrase the summary: Historical fiction + Bees + Psychic powers! If you want to join the book club, read the book! And plan to join us for the snack and chat to discuss "The Murmur of Bees" on Thursday, May 8th, from Noon to 1:45 pm. Have a beautiful week! With love, Monica |
A word of caution, just in case you aren't aware:There's mischief afoot, so be sure to take care.If it sounds unbelievable or like it's too good to be true,There's a chance someone's tryin' to make a fool outta you!But it's all in good fun, just to get a laughA day for everyone to be a little bit daft.So be diligent and skeptical, or you, too, may be had...You might get a poem instead of a newsletter. Don't be mad!😜With love, Monica
This is your brain...on yoga: Go ahead and screenshot this 👇 so you can get in there to read all those little words when you have a moment. The gist of it is that yoga activates our whole brain! This is one of the *many* reasons it is so beneficial. Each practice is like a little reset for the body. Through yoga, the brain can find union and create synergy across its different sections. No wonder it feels so good! Isn't it fascinating? 🤓 She's a brainiac, brainiac... If you answered "Yes!"...
