From ughhhh... to ahhhhh

Yoga for your home (yes, really)

You've probably heard me say this in class: no judgment, no expectation, no comparison. But that doesn’t just apply on the mat. It very much applies to our homes, too.

Let’s be real: we all have that spot (or maybe a few 😅). It could be a drawer, a closet, half a room, the whole dang garage... a space that makes you go ughhhh every time you see it.

And usually it’s not that we don’t care... it’s just that it feels like a lot. So we work around it, close the door, shift the pile, tell ourselves we’ll get to it “when we have a full day”... you know the drill.

But what if it didn’t have to be this big, overwhelming thing? What if that space could actually feel like an ahhhhh instead?

That’s the work I’ve been doing when I'm not teaching yoga (or singing, reading, and planning opportunities to snack lol). I started HomeFlow... and the best way I can describe it is yoga for your home.

It’s not about forcing or perfection or turning your life into some aesthetic Pinterest situation. It’s about moving through your space with a little more awareness and making decisions with support while creating systems that actually fit your real life... all with that same no judgment, no expectation, no comparison attitude.

And also... we laugh. A lot. Because sometimes you find three hammers, expired spices from 2017, and papers you haven't needed since, well, ever. What else are we going to do? 😂

I realized recently that I haven’t talked very much about this side of what I do, so... hi, yes, this is a thing I do, and I love it.

Here’s what a few clients had to say after their own “ughhh to ahhhhh” moments:

“Monica transformed my craft room, office filing system, and helped me find the perfect dining table and chairs to reflect my personality. Monica's organizing skills and peaceful spirit are priceless!”

“Organizing and letting things go has never been my strong suit. HomeFlow made the process easy and fun! My closet was overwhelming and full of clothes that no longer felt like ‘me’. Monica helped me let go of what was no longer working for me. Six trash bags of donations later, the clothes I love have room to breathe. Now, I love getting dressed in the morning! If you have a spot in your home that feels cluttered and disorganized or you need a little help letting things go… I highly recommend HomeFlow. We made space for what matters!”

“Monica from HomeFlow ‘did’ our garage and my pantry, and she’s amazing! I didn’t believe her when she told me how long (short) her method would take. She moves everything out so fast, and then helps you decide what to throw away, give away, relocate or keep in the same space. You just don’t realize how much stuff you have that you don’t even need or want. My problem is keeping things instead of throwing them away. There were sooo many expired items in my pantry. Now everything has a place, and it’s been easy keeping up with it now that it’s done! Who knew our garage was so huge! And my pantry is lovable again. I’m also inspired to try her method myself in a few other spaces in my home.”

"Ok… why hire HomeFlow? Is it worth it? The short answer is yes. Long answer: Your time is worth something per minute, per hour, per day (only you know what that number is). But then add in the mindset to clean a garage or room… can you do it with an open mind? Are you willing to let go of stuff that is no longer important? Well this is where HomeFlow comes in. They will gently turn everything upside down, shake it up, dust it off, and put in on a table so you can sort through it and decide if it’s worth keeping anymore. Things that are trash will go to trash, things that are not so interesting to you anymore will be taken to places that might need them, maybe other families or other facilities. At the end of the day, you have helped yourself and others by saying goodbye to things that needed to go. I would use this company again and again. Plus I haven’t even talked about the person behind the scenes that is orchestrating the whole process! Well worth the money and well worth the peacefulness of getting stuff cleaned up."

So, if you’ve been feeling like, I really want to tackle that space... this is me gently saying, you don’t have to do it all at once, and you definitely don’t have to do it alone.

We can start small. One space, a couple hours, see how it feels. No pressure, just progress. From ughhhh... to ahhhhh.

Today feels a little special to me Thirteen years ago, on March 17, 2013, I received my certificate from my very first 200-hour yoga teacher training. The invitation is officially open💌 After sharing the Slumber Party Staycation invite with my VIP list, a few familiar faces have already said yes (which makes me ridiculously happy). The gathering is beginning to take shape! The private rooms have already filled, and the remaining spaces are in the shared bunk room (which honestly carries a little of that adult-camp energy I secretly love).
