As promised... a little video

They say trying new things is good for us

It builds resilience, confidence, and reminds us that we can do things that feel unfamiliar (even uncomfortable) and be just fine.

So last week, I tested this theory. I joined my sister-in-law for something she has been wanting to try: a trapeze class.

If you were in class on Wednesday, you already know how that went... I was so sore, and yes, I complained about it quite a bit 😄

But even with all of that discomfort, it truly was a great experience. It challenged my body, engaged my mind, and gave me a chance to practice staying present when things felt a little wobbly.

As promised, here’s a little video so you can see what I got myself into:

Needless to say, I won’t be running away with the circus anytime soon.

But! If you’re feeling inspired to try something new, I have a few ideas that won’t have you cursing every time you reach your arms overhead...

A mini-retreat like no other

In just one month, we’ll be gathered for the Hand Craft Slumber Party Staycation, and I’m getting so excited!

If you’ve been on the fence, this is your little nudge to make it happen. There are still a few spots left, and I’ve opened up 2 special commuter-style tickets for those who want to join the fun without staying overnight.

The commuter option includes both days of the Ice Dye wearable art-making workshop, homemade dinners, goody bag, great company, and the Yoga Nidra session on Thursday night. So you still get to participate in the fun, just with your own bed at the end of the night.

Don't be a fool!

Question for those of you who were with me 11 years ago: do any of you remember that class where I suggested we try opening meditation to heavy metal, double bass, super loud music?

I got y’all good 😄

Don’t worry, I don’t have any tricks up my sleeve for this Wednesday’s class (yet). But this is your courtesy reminder that April Fool’s Day is this week. Be aware!

Please reach out if you have any questions, comments, or ideas about things. I am always interested to hear what you have to say. Hope to see you soon!

With love,
Monica

Yoga for your home (yes, really) You've probably heard me say this in class: no judgment, no expectation, no comparison. But that doesn’t just apply on the mat. It very much applies to our homes, too. Let’s be real: we all have that spot (or maybe a few 😅). It could be a drawer, a closet, half a room, the whole dang garage... a space that makes you go ughhhh every time you see it. And usually it’s not that we don’t care... it’s just that it feels like a lot. So we work around it, close the...

Today feels a little special to me Thirteen years ago, on March 17, 2013, I received my certificate from my very first 200-hour yoga teacher training. I’ve had the privilege of learning from incredible teachers, refining my craft, and sharing my practice with so many of you. So it feels especially fitting,...
