A case for yoga🤓

The Pop Heard ‘Round the Parking Lot

This past weekend, I stepped off a curb leaving dinner with my parents and rolled my ankle. I actually heard it pop. The moment took me right back to being 15 years old at a basketball game, sitting on the bench with a swollen, purple ankle that took weeks to heal. So needless to say, I was worried.

Luckily, my care team (aka Mom and Dad) jumped into action with ice, compression, and the good old RICE rule. The next day was rough, but after just 24 hours I could put weight on it again. By day two, it was still swollen, a little bruised, but not painful at all.

I don’t mean to toot yoga’s horn (you know I do😜), but I’m convinced that years of balance work, ankle strengthening, and mindful movement made all the difference. So here’s your friendly reminder to keep practicing those wobbly one-footed poses, roll out your ankles, and stretch your calves. It matters, even when you’re just leaving a restaurant.

Moral of the story: keep doing the yoga.

This Weekend at Hand Craft Yoga

This Saturday, October 18, is our once-a-month yoga morning, and I’d love for you to join us. We’ll start with an all-levels class at 9:30 that will get you grounded, balanced, and feeling good from the inside out.

Then, at 10:30, Cherie will take us on a sound bath journey to help you sink into deep relaxation. You’re welcome to come for one or stay for both. If you plan to stay for the sound bath, bring an extra pillow, bolster, or blanket so you can get extra cozy.

It’s one of my favorite mornings of the month, and I hope to see you there. Click the button below to let me know you're coming to yoga:

Book Club Update

Winnie’s Book Club is heading back to Kate Quinn! Our next read is The Briar Club, and we’ll meet on Thursday, November 13 from 12–2 pm.

If you’ve been waiting for a book that blends friendship, secrets, and just the right amount of suspense set against a postwar Washington backdrop, this is your chance.

Been thinking about joining us? Just read the book... that’s your ticket in.

Just a Heads Up

There will be no classes on Monday 10/27 or Wednesday 10/29. I’m so sorry for the schedule change and really appreciate your understanding and flexibility.

Let’s just say I was given an offer I couldn’t refuse (more details soon!), and I’ll be away for a few days. Thank you for rolling with me...I’ll be back the following week to welcome us to November!

Until Next Time

Stay steady, inside and out. Keep balancing, breathing, and trusting your body. See you soon!

With love,

Monica

Humpty Dumpty has the right idea! A nice walk in nature, carving a pumpkin, reading fireside, and picking seasonal fruit definitely puts me back together again! Jokes aside... hello fall! Yesterday we welcomed the autumnal equinox, the official beginning of fall and a time when day and night rest in perfect balance. It's a seasonal shift that invites us to pause, notice the turning of the year, and feel into our own balance between light and dark, energy and rest, effort and ease. The equinox...
