For my happy hour friends!Spring Creek Garden Center has officially finished their brand-new event room and we are going to hand craft yoga there on Wednesday, November 19! Use one of your passes and join me from 5:30 to 6:30 pm for an all-levels class. Click the button to RSVP for yoga:
Their new restaurant, The Desert Spoon, is now open just across the garden path, and they have happy hour specials until 8 pm (on Wednesdays and Thursdays). So here’s what I'm thinking...Soft flow. Deep breaths. Fresh space energy. Then a little stroll across the yard for snacks and sips to ease into the season. We can call it... Flow & Feast! Yes please. If you want to stay for happy hour after class, let me know* so I can save us a big cozy table. *How to let me knowI have recently learned that some of your email messages haven’t made it to me, due to my unreliable inbox. Moving forward, please send emails to handcraftyoga@gmail.com. Don’t reply to this newsletter. Instead, start a new message so it doesn’t get lost in transit. If you wrote recently and didn’t hear back, feel free to resend. I’d love to connect. Onto something more funThis Saturday is our once-a-month yoga and sound bath! Yoga begins at 9:30 am, followed by the sound bath experience at 10:30 am. Come for one or stay for both! The link to RSVP for yoga is below:
If you’re staying for the sound bath, you can bring cash for Cherie or plan to Venmo her when you arrive. You are encouraged to bring a blanket and pillow (or whatever helps you nest) so you can rest comfortably. Extra fun, and you're invitedI just love it when things line up. And before you get excited, no, this is not an invitation to an alignment workshop. I know… disappointing for all the yoga nerds out there. It’s actually even better. You’re invited to… a market! This Saturday, after we float out of yoga and sound bath, you can wander right across the street to Bulverde Market Day. "Under the oak trees on Bulverde Road. This market is home to 30+ vendors: makers of art, products, and specialty foods...at 2545 Bulverde Road." From 9 am to 2 pm. Maybe I'll see you there? Winnie's Book Club update! It’s almost time to Snack and Chat! We’re reading The Briar Club by Kate Quinn, and thanks to a cookbook on the author's site shared specifically for this book, the snack ideas are flowing. We will meet on Thursday, November 13 from noon to 2 pm at one of our member’s homes. The address will be shared with those who RSVP. If you’d like to bring a snack, let us know by clicking the link below:
Excited to step into November with you. Thanks for being here... in your practice and in our community. With love, Monica |
I have 2 too many comics like this saved to my computer: Happy Halloween week! Here I am with my brother, Marco, in 1996(ish?). I remember loving this costume. I thought rodeo clowns were hilarious. Shout out to mom for the awesome handcrafted costumes! Don't trick yourself! Just a reminder: Daylight Saving Time ends on this coming Sunday, Nov 2. We “fall back” one hour at 2 am... so enjoy that extra sleep and double-check your clocks before class on Monday! Not this Saturday, but next: Mark...
And a little gratitude... This week, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for showing up to class, for rolling out your mat even when life feels full, and for flowing with me when I have to shift the schedule (reminder: no class next week!). Your flexibility, in every sense of the word, means the world to me. And since gratitude always pairs well with something sweet, I wanted to share a treat that’s been on my mind for weeks now. My friend Chef Sally (you know her, you love her) and I...
The Pop Heard ‘Round the Parking Lot This past weekend, I stepped off a curb leaving dinner with my parents and rolled my ankle. I actually heard it pop. The moment took me right back to being 15 years old at a basketball game, sitting on the bench with a swollen, purple ankle that took weeks to heal. So needless to say, I was worried. Luckily, my care team (aka Mom and Dad) jumped into action with ice, compression, and the good old RICE rule. The next day was rough, but after just 24 hours I...
