Sounds like a good time!

Soulful Saturday 8/16

This weekend, I’d love for you to join us at Trilogy Dance Center for a gentle way to start your weekend with intention. We’ll begin with an all-levels yoga class at 9:30 am, followed by a sound bath from 10:30-11:30 am. You can come for one or stay for both.

Perhaps you are wondering..."what's a sound bath?"
Don’t worry...no towels required (though you may want an extra blanket and bolster!). This bath is fully clothed, and you won’t even get your hair wet. Instead, you’ll be immersed in waves of sound that help shift your brain into a deeply relaxed state, releasing tension and calming the nervous system in ways words can’t quite describe.

If you haven't experienced the sound bath at our new location (Trilogy Dance Center in downtown Bulverde), I highly encourage you to come check it out. I felt like I was being pulled into the floor... remember the carnival ride, the Gravitron? Kind of like that.

Click the button below to sign up for the yoga class. Or feel free to just show up (and bring a friend!).

Time for a little local fun

Mark your calendar for Tuesday, August 19 and come see me at Bourbon & Branch for Moms & Mimosas, a back-to-school market with local vendors and brunch vibes from 8 am to 2 pm!

I’ll be there with my long-time friend Jordan and her amazing homegrown tallow business, Four Six Farms. She creates beautiful, handmade tallow products using ingredients straight from their land: their own cows, their bees and honey, and a whole lot of love in every batch. From soothing blends with magnesium to simple, nourishing skincare, they’ve got something special for anyone looking to care for themselves naturally.

If you want to preview her line or learn more, visit the website or better yet, come to the market and let us show you everything in person… over a mimosa (or two!).

A little throwback

In honor of World Lizard Day this Thursday, August 14 (yes, that is a real thing), here’s a throwback to one of our favorite I-Spy pics. Can you spot the two lizards in the photo below?

Reply to this email and show me that you found them, and I'll enter you in a drawing to win a fun tallow product from Four Six Farms! Happy hunting!🦎

We have this week & next...

I look forward to seeing you at one of the next four classes before we take a short summer pause. Please note that in-person yoga will be on hold for August 25, August 27, September 1, and September 3.

Thank you for your understanding, and I can’t wait to be back on the mat with you after the break.

With love,

Monica

Time for a story! The other day I was sitting still in the middle of a field on my parents' ranch... just breathing, just being... when a big ol’ bumblebee zipped right in front of my face! I startled for a moment, my whole body tensing, until it landed softly on my knee. Actual photo of actual bee on actual knee! I froze and let it rest there. And as I sat with this tiny, gentle creature... close enough to see the little joints in its fuzzy legs, I laughed to myself: “Well, isn’t this just...

Tallow there 👋 Just a reminder for the locals: today is the Moms & Mimosas back-to-school market at Bourbon and Branch (in Spring Branch) from 8 am to 2 pm. I’ll be there helping my dear friend Jordan of Four Six Farms with her handcrafted tallow products. Each one is crafted from her land, her animals, her honey, and her heart. Come sip a mimosa, say hi, and browse all the local goodies! Plot twist: It's in Bulverde! I knew our current book club pick Party of Liars was based in the Texas...

Fun fact Did you know that besides being the eighth month in our calendar, august is also an adjective that means respected and impressive? Other definitions even include “majestic dignity” and “grandeur.” I was today (okay, yesterday) years old when I learned this. So yes, you are officially invited to move through the month with majestic dignity. And if you wobble or fall out of Tree Pose along the way, even better. That’s how we strengthen the roots. Winnie picked a good one! For this...
