Go ahead...open this one early 🎁

We welcomed winter

Winter officially arrived this week, marking the shortest day and longest night of the year. From here, the light begins its quiet return, little by little. But first, we move through this deeper, cozier stretch of the season. That’s why it felt especially meaningful to gather together.

To those of you who joined me for our mini-retreat yesterday… thank you. Truly. Hearing the mantras that surfaced, witnessing the honesty and intention in the room, and sharing that space together left me momentarily speechless. And for me, that says a lot.

And if you’re thinking, “Oh no, I missed it,” don’t worry. We’re doing it again. No reindeer this time, but something equally fun and meaningful.

That brings me to a little seasonal fun fact

Most people assume we’re already deep into the Twelve Days of Christmas by now. In fact, I was one of those people just a week ago. But it turns out, we’re not. The twelve days don’t actually begin until Christmas Day.🤯

Originally, they were meant to be a stretch of celebration after the holiday itself. A time for feasting (lots of birds), music (piping and drumming), hospitality (milking and laying), performances (leaping and dancing), gift-giving, and general merriment. Less rushing. More lingering.

Which honestly feels like something we could all use.

In that same spirit of celebration and abundance, I’m excited to invite you to our next mini-retreat: Join me on Monday, 12/29, from Noon to 2:30 pm for Goodbye 2025!

We’ll flow together with a playful sequence inspired by the Twelve Days of Christmas(so many birds), then melt into deep stretching, a heart-centered activity to help reveal your personal mantra for 2026, and finish with yoga nidra for deep rest.

Yes, there will be a snack. Let me know you're coming by clicking the button below:

Start the first weekend of the new year with a feel-good reset! On Saturday, January 3, join me for all-levels yoga at 9:30 am, followed by a sound bath experience with Cherie at 10:30 am. Give yourself a morning to move, breathe, and rest without any pressure to have it all figured out.

And we’re heading back to Spring Creek Garden Center on
Wednesday, January 14, for yoga at 5:30 pm in the new Gathering Haus. After class, you’re welcome to scoot over to their on-site restaurant, The Desert Spoon, which has happy hour until 7 pm. Grab something tasty, linger for a bit, or head out when you’re ready. Come and go however it feels best.

As a reminder, we’ll be back on our regular schedule at Trilogy Hill Country starting Monday, January 5. Does Noon to 1 pm fit in your new year schedule? Please put it on the calendar: every Monday & Wednesday!

Thank you for showing up, for gathering when you can, and for being part of this community. Wishing you a warm, restful, light-filled holiday season… and the space to linger before what comes next.

With love,

Monica

Or... do you? I was listening to 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer' the other day and got stuck on that line “You know Dasher, and Dancer, and Prancer…”🎶 I realized… I don’t actually know them. But then I paused and thought about it a little more. Each reindeer has a distinct personality: energy, grace, confidence, heart, strength. When I look at it that way, I recognize every one of them. Maybe I do know them. Nerd alert: This thought excited me. So, in true Monica fashion, I took this idea...

Plug in to what lights you up This Saturday, I arrived at the studio for our morning classes and noticed a small tree sitting on the front desk. Its lights were off, but it had lights… so of course I turned it on. A tree with lights that aren’t glowing just feels a little sad, like it is waiting for permission to shine. A few minutes later, Cherie walked in and said, “Oh wow, I like that tree!” As we watched it slowly spin, we realized something magical: not only were the lights beautiful,...

TGID I cannot believe we are already stepping into the very last month of the year. I saw somewhere that December is like the Friday of the year, and honestly… I feel that. There is this playfulness, a softening around the edges, and an invitation to have a deep exhale. With that in mind, I want to share a quick update about our schedule for the end of the year. There will be no "regular schedule" classes on December 22, 24, 29, or 31 (the last 2 weeks of the year). But I am excited to offer...
