First the sweet...Did you know that July is National Ice Cream Month? I'm not usually one to subscribe to silly holidays, but I have to admit...this is one I can get behind. If you're into this sort of celebration, you should also know that tomorrow, July 23, is both National Vanilla Ice Cream Day and National Sprinkle Day. National Sprinkle Day?! Who knew. Other fun ways to celebrate summer...Just a heads up, last week's Aqua Yoga class was rescheduled to next Tuesday, July 28. If that doesn't work for you, maybe you can join me on Tuesday, August 4, instead! The class itself is from 10:30-11:30 am, but you are welcome from 10 am to Noon. Come early for free swim time, enjoy the one-hour aqua yoga class, stick around for light refreshments, soak up the beautiful surroundings, and spend the morning with a wonderful community. To RSVP for either session, click here to visit my calendar. The short of itI'm excited to be back to our regular schedule at Trilogy next week! I hope to see you for yoga on Monday 7/27 or Wednesday 7/29 from Noon to 1 pm. If you're feeling like trying something a little different, there are two fun opportunities to step outside the box: • Average Jo's Singing Club: Thursday, July 30, from Noon to 1 pm in Bulverde at St Nicholas Church • Brunch Yoga at Spring Creek Garden Center: Friday, July 31, at 10:30 am Have a beautiful week, and I look forward to seeing you soon! With love, Monica (reply to me HERE) |

The second is a 4-night adventure planned for January that will have us venturing out of state. That's all I'm saying for now. 🤐 If reading this gives you that...
Someone shared something with me, and it got me thinking... A student told me they had to get an MRI recently, something that used to bring up a lot of anxiety. This time, they used their breath to get through it... and it really helped. I might have actually jumped for joy. As much as I love what happens in the classroom, it's stories like this that I really treasure. Don't get me wrong, I genuinely love witnessing the way you honor your bodies, connect with your breath, and light up when...
Full disclosure: Until this week, I had never once questioned why pirates wore eye patches (have you?). I just assumed it was part of the job description. Lots of sword fights, probably. Maybe the occasional parrot-related incident. Then a friend introduced me to the theory that pirates may have worn eye patches so that one eye remained adjusted to darkness, allowing them to move more easily below deck. There isn't enough evidence to know for sure, but many historians think it's a reasonable...
