Around and around we go... 🥰

What a dream...

I've been feeling especially grateful lately for this season of life and just how steeped in the practice of yoga I get to be.

Two weeks ago, I was leading my own retreat, spending a few beautiful days practicing, playing, and connecting with an incredible group of women. This past weekend, I spent three full days immersed in my yoga therapy training, learning and exploring new ways to understand and support the people I practice with. And this coming weekend, I'll be at the Texas Yoga Retreat, surrounded by 100 other yoga-loving people, getting to be a student and soak it all in.

WHAT A DREAM!!!

And I've been thinking about what a beautiful, reciprocal relationship this all is. Every time you show up to practice with me, you're giving me an opportunity to practice, too. To teach, to learn, to pay attention, to grow. And the more I learn and experience, the more I get to bring back and share with you. Which gives us all something new to explore together...and around and around it goes.

It's this wonderful little loop of giving and receiving, learning and sharing, and somehow it just keeps getting better.

So, thank you for being part of it. For showing up, for being curious, for sharing your practice with me, and for giving me so many opportunities to keep growing right alongside you. I really do feel like one lucky yogi. 🥰

BRUNCH IS YOGA. 😜

Those are actual words that accidentally came out of my mouth at the end of class yesterday. And you know what? I'm standing by them. In fact, I'm considering making a T-shirt.😂

But for real...would you wear a shirt that says BRUNCH IS YOGA? If so, please reply to this email with the subject line "BRUNCH IS YOGA" and let me know. LOL.

Speaking of brunch/yoga... Join us on Friday, October 23, 10:30 to 11:30 am at Spring Creek Garden Center! We'll enjoy an hour of yoga among all the fall goodness, with the option to stick around for brunch at The Desert Spoon afterward.

And if you haven't been out to see their pumpkin patch yet...WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING?! 🎃🤣

Other things that pair well together...

Next Saturday, October 24, we've got TWO more good things to go with your yoga: a little local shopping and a whole lot of sound!

Join Cherie and me for another Yoga + Sound Experience at Trilogy Hill Country from 1 to 3 pm. We'll spend the first hour moving and breathing together, then settle in for an hour-long sound bath. 🤤

Not me over here trying to build you a Saturday itinerary, but you should know that Bulverde Market Days will be happening just half a mile down the road from 9 am to 2 pm! So you could spend your morning browsing the market, grabbing a bite, and then head over to Trilogy for a blissful afternoon of yoga and sound.

Supporting local makers, moving your body, and soaking up some good vibrations...sounds like a perfect Saturday, if you ask me.🤓

October is flying by

There's still plenty of fun on the calendar this month, so take a peek and mark your favorites!

And a quick reminder: Although the calendar lists yoga classes at $15, your class passes are good for ALL regular classes at both Trilogy and Spring Creek Garden Center! You can grab a class pass HERE if you’d like.

And both Winnie’s Book Club and Average Jo's Singing Club are completely FREE and open to anyone and everyone. No yoga experience (or class pass!) required. 😊

Looking forward to seeing you soon. As always, questions, ideas, thoughts...send them my way. I love to hear from you!

With love,

Monica

Let it RAIN All that actual rain we got last week had me thinking about another kind of RAIN (you know, when I wasn't busy singing or brunching😂). I was first introduced to the RAIN meditation through the work of Tara Brach, who popularized the practice from mindfulness teacher Michele McDonald. And if you know me, you know I love a good acronym, so naturally this one spoke to me. RAIN provides a simple framework for meeting whatever is happening within us with a little more awareness,...

What happens on retreat... I’m happy to report that our Midweek Reset Retreat was a TOTAL SUCCESS. 🥰 We soaked, stretched, ate, laughed, journaled, painted, rested, played...and somehow it still felt like we had nowhere we needed to be. Normally after a retreat, I love sharing pictures of our time together. But this time, I barely took any!😂 After writing to you last week about paying attention enough to experience the moments we're living, I suppose I took my own advice. So this one may...

It's official! Today marks the autumnal equinox, which means summer is officially handing things over to fall. Of course, here in Texas, the weather may need a little extra time to get that memo. 😂 But whether it feels like fall yet or not, I love the way a changing season invites us to pay attention. When things stay the same for a while, they have a tendency to fade into the background. Then something shifts...the light changes, the days get a little shorter, the first cool morning catches...
