A story from the hot studioYesterday, I found myself in a crowded hot yoga class. Just behind me was a woman with her teenage daughter. Throughout the class I noticed little bursts of giggles between them… the daughter rolling her eyes dramatically as her mom toughed it out. I couldn’t help but smile, because that was me in 2004, sitting next to my own mom in a hot yoga studio in San Antonio. After class, I bumped into them again and felt compelled to share my story. I told them that hot yoga wasn’t for me back then, but that it planted a seed. I let it sprout in its own way, and now… 21 years of practice later… I found myself meandering back into a hot studio. The mom beamed and gave her daughter one of those classic “SEE?!” looks. We all laughed, and I left with the sweetest reminder of how my yoga journey began. I had to call my mom right away to thank her for inviting me to class all those years ago. Four years of newslettersThat moment also made me think about another milestone. It was this very month, four years ago, that I started writing these weekly newsletters. At the time, I reflected on my journey to becoming a yoga teacher and the twists and turns of practice. Since then, this little list has quadrupled in size, I’ve had the joy of leading four overnight retreats, we’ve closed our long-standing practice space, and I’ve begun supporting people not just in their bodies but in their homes through Home Flow Organization. Life unfolds in surprising ways, and I’m grateful for every step. Thank you for being part of this journey… whether you’ve been here from the start or just joined recently. Your presence makes all the difference. Soulful Saturday on September 20thThis weekend!! Join me and Cherie at Trilogy Dance Center in downtown Bulverde for this month’s Soulful Saturday. We’ll start with all-levels yoga from 9:30 to 10:20 am, followed by a deeply relaxing sound bath with Cherie from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Come for one or stay for both… It’s the perfect way to reset and recharge. Click the button below to RSVP for yoga:
If you're staying for the sound bath, please bring cash/venmo with you to pay Cherie directly. We also recommend bringing extra cozy items like a blanket and bolster for maximum comfort during the sound bath. Sprout'N About SA Market: Grand Opening! After class, come explore the very first Sprout’n About SA Market at Rainbow Gardens (2585 Thousand Oaks Dr.). I’ll be with my friend Jordan at her Four Six Farms tallow table. If you missed the back-to-school market a few weeks ago, here’s your chance to sample her handcrafted goodies and hear all about them from the creator herself. This market will take place on the third Saturday of every month from 10 am to 2 pm… so let’s support this beautiful new community event from the very beginning! From my first class with my mom, to four years of Tuesday newsletters, to all the twists and surprises in between… thank you for being here. Here’s to whatever seeds we’re planting now, and all the ways they might bloom in the years ahead. With love, |
Winnie’s Book Club Recap Last week’s book club was one for the books...literally! We had the most wonderful surprise when Kelsey Cox, the author of Party of Liars, joined us in person. We were so delighted to spend time with her, asking questions about the book, her writing process, and her journey to becoming an author. Here we are, minus a few club members on summer travels! Find Kelsey in the middle of the back row, right next to me. She was gracious, generous, and so sweet. She even...

Time for a story! The other day I was sitting still in the middle of a field on my parents' ranch... just breathing, just being... when a big ol’ bumblebee zipped right in front of my face! I startled for a moment, my whole body tensing, until it landed softly on my knee. Actual photo of actual bee on actual knee! I froze and let it rest there. And as I sat with this tiny, gentle creature... close enough to see the little joints in its fuzzy legs, I laughed to myself: “Well, isn’t this just...
